Fairfax, Va. — The Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company has announced its 2014 Board of Directors:
President: Jonathan Wood
Vice President: Mike Lattanzio
Treasurer: Kelley Wine
Secretary: Camilla Morrison
Directors: Kevin Mullins, Shane Murphy, and Bruce Rager
Chief: Jack May
The volunteer organization operates out of Station 21 on 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, in partnership with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Last year, 40 volunteers logged nearly 10,000 hours supporting the community. Its members provide supplemental staffing on frontline county apparatus as well as staff additional units during periods of training or high incident activity.
Fair Oaks volunteers also organize an annual Ambulance Chase 5K and Half-Mile Fun Run. The 2014 event is scheduled for Saturday, May 24.
Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue owns and staffs a Basic Life Support ambulance, a fire engine, and a command officer vehicle. It also owns a heavy rescue unit, an Advanced Life Support medic, and a utility/boat tow vehicle which are operated by the County’s career staff.
